Birth Story of Care and Concern :

Care and Concern foundation was founded in the year 2010 by Mr Love Kakkar to contribute towards betterment of the society with a focus to help childern born with congenital heart defects and other surgical concerns. The aim is to help these underpriveleged little hearts to lead and live a normal life. The inspiration behind the idea came when he encountered such a case in a visit to a hospital, and where he saw a situation of helpless parents to save their child. Thus the voice came which whispered "to do something for the little hearts where parents feel helpless and anxious to get a life for their kids because of lack of money".

Filling the Gap :

Needless to say, irrespective of any caste, creed, religion, or what state the child belongs, every child has a right to get best of treatments. But in India, so many kids die because their parents do not have enough money for the treatments. Care and Concern , a Delhi based NGO, cannot change the will of the god but can be surely be a ray of hope for the underprivelged children and their families by giving the required medical treatment .

Your Role :

You can be part of the cause by donating your bit for such juvinelle patients. Such kids sometimes need 2-3 surgeries to correct the congenital heart defects. We , at Care and Concern, in our full capacity try to reach maximum people , to bring them together for the cause. Your role thus is the most important.

The Lives of the underprivileged:

From our experience of having observed many children aspiring to be Doctor, Pilot, Teacher etc. in the remote communities, where in they don't even have access to required nutrition & more than this, when they are suffering from threatening illnesses, for which they don't have enough resources to spend to get it cured.

Care and Concern continues to vow a credible, honest, transparent and accountable organization that devotes itself towards a privileged future for the not so priviledged ones’s long term needs for health and education.

FACT:

Only about 15000 heart surgeries are done every year on children in India.
Out of these 30 % need surgeries in their first year otherwise they will not see their first birthday.

  • CHDs are the most common birth defects. CHDs occur in almost 1% of births.
  • 175000 Children are born in India every year with Congenital Heart Disease. They are added to the existing pool of children born with CHD between 0-8 years.

  • CHDs are the most common cause of infant death due to birth defects.
  • Approximately 25% of children born with a CHD will need heart surgery or other interventions to survive.
  • CHDs are now the most common heart problem in pregnant women.

Most causes of CHDs are unknown. Only 15-20% of all CHDs are related to known genetic conditions.

Most CHDs are thought to be caused by a combination of genes and other risk factors, such as environmental exposures and maternal conditions. Because the heart is formed so early in pregnancy, the damage may occur before most women know they are pregnant.

A baby's risk of having a CHD is increased by 3 times if the mother, father, or sibling has a CHD.
